The learning city program gives me an extraordinary experience of city planning, not only as a designer, but also as a participant. In the sino-german studio, due to the cultural and mayor difference, there are various differences between Chinese students and German students, such as the process of researching and the logic of design. It is the differences that stimulate the brainstorm and the design, which give us a great opportunity to find a good way for the transformation of Wujin area. And it is interesting for all the students to learn from each other and to get close to the fundamental point lying in the Wujin city.

The field trips and the lectures in Germany really impress me a lot. It gives me a close look at the transformation of the Ruhr Region and its planning dimension. I like The World Cultural Heritage “Zeche Zollverein”。 Now the area is used for a lot of cultural and leisure activities. We can bike around the area in green nature, or walk together with old miners trough the buildings. Duisburg Landschaftspark is activated by the transformation of the area, such as the climbing, diving, cycling and so on.

To sum up, the studio gives me not only the chance to learning the knowledge of city planning, but also to find the potential connection and balance between architecture, culture, environment, history and economy. Thanks a lot to the organizer, the sponsor, the teachers and the teammates!
