This China-Germany collaborative design program under the theme of learning city has benefit me greatly. During this period of learning process, many kinds of experience impressed me a lot, not only the discussion about the professional issues, but also the organization of communication. For example, there always be a group member who will actively encourage the rest of us to deepen the design process, and we are all passionate about sharing opinions and confident about our own ones. Although it will be arguments during the discussion, it always turns out to achieve an agreement in the end. These kinds of situation don’t happen very often in our general design class.

Besides, the trip to Germany broaden my horizon significantly. For instance, I am impressed by the industrial heritage of Ruhr region. Its pattern of conservation and reuse displays the original beauty of industry from every angle and doesn’t mix with extra commercial purpose, which is very useful for our conservation of industrial heritage.

In the mean time, I look forward to the return visit of our German members in the May of 2016.
