It is a wonderful and an unforgettable experience for me to take part in the Sino-German Joint Design Program. I still remember all those experiences with Chinese and German students in Chongqing, Düsseldorf, Heidelberg, Munich, Bamberg, Just as happened.

In fact, working with German students in different languages, cultural backgrounds and ways of thinking is a big challenge. At first, we had a lot of heated arguments because of different backgrounds and concepts. The background of urban development between China to Germany is so different that it is difficult to say who is absolutely right, but it also gives me a new perspective to rethink urban development and review the way we deal with it. I have never been so concerned about the importance of investing in urban development, public participation, and coordinating stakeholders to make cities sustainable.

I am very shocked after visiting many excellent practice cases in Germany. What we have argued about seemingly unrealistic strategies in China has been confirmed in Germany. See the way the German urban development, compared to the reality of urban development in China, I changed a lot of ideas, this is probably my greatest achievement.

I am honored to join the Learning City course, I really miss that good time. I miss those who participate in activities and places we have traveled.
