I am very grateful to this “Learning City” studio, because I have learned a lot from this joint design. First of all, my spoken English has made a great progress. In the process of learning and interacting with German students, brainstorming was carried out in conjunction with the graphic language. All the thoughts were written down, posted on the wall, and then shared and discussed. I liked the way of team communication and expression, which is very effective. Secondly, we have realized it is of significance for us to make the detailed research and analysis of the program before we design. Before the design, we analyzed the status of the base, business, market, and stakeholders, etc., which contributed to a systematic thinking, so that we can analyze the problem from multiple perspectives. Finally, in the process of case study of Germany, especially in the example of urban renewal of Düsseldorf, I was impressed, and it inspired me to further think about the strategy of Chongqing old city reconstruction. It was indeed an important and unforgettable experience to conduct a project study in China and research cases in Germany with German teachers and students. Through this joint design, I not only made many German friends, but also enhanced my ability of spoken English and broadened my horizons.
